"Open Source" ???

  • Facts

The WODE's firmware - even after releasing the "OPENWODE.RAR" archive - is NOT open source.

  • The WODE's custom U-Boot bootloader source code is STILL missing, which made use of the LPC3131 development kit MCU's CDL (Common Driver Library) before official state release v0.03 as there are code differences compared between the decompilation of the U-Boot binary and the official v0.03 package.

  • The compiler used for compiling the U-Boot source code is UNKNOWN. It's also unclear whether U-Boot's "ELDK" was used after all or the "LTIB" as stated in NXP's Linux QuickStart Guide or if the CodeSourcery G++ Lite compiler was used or maybe even some other cross-compilation of GCC.

  • The source code to the "WODE" binary used by the Linux Kernel for interaction with the LCD-PCB joystick is also missing and was NOT part of the "OPENWODE" source code package.

This is an UNKNOWN base board (running an ACTEL ProAsic FPGA).

It has the ability to attach an UNKNOWN OEM board from manufacturer "Embedded Artists" as well as several expansion modules.
